Những chỗ in đậm là tớ đã đọc (28/100), in nghiêng là đã thử đọc nhưng mà bỏ dở dang (6/100)- trong số dở dang này thì có Chiến tranh và hòa bình với Les Miserable dài dã man, mới đọc được ở mỗi bộ 1/4. Cùng với 2 cuốn này còn có David Copperfield với Anna Karenina cũng dài man rợ, chưa đọc nhưng nằm trong số kế hoạch sẽ đọc vào một ngày nào đó trong đời. Lolita, Great Gatsby với Heart of Darkness đều tiếng nổi như cồn tuy không dài lắm, nhưng cũng không phải taste của mình, đọc mãi chả vào, cuối cùng đều vứt đấy. Đọc 2 quyển của Dickens rồi mà đều ko nằm trong list này (Great Expectations và Oliver Twist).

Nói chung những list này cũng chỉ để xem cho vui, mặc dù tất nhiên cái tên Penguin cũng là một cái tên có giá trị. Cái list này bị thiên lệch rõ ràng cho người đọc Anh- Mỹ khi có tới 37 người Anh, 20 người Mỹ trong khi chỉ có 9 người Pháp, 6 người Nga, 2 người Đức thì lại là Marx với Engel), 0 người châu Á hay Mỹ Latin. Nhìn cái list này lại nhớ tới câu chuyện về list 100 tướng và nghĩ như thế có thể nói là châu Á hay Mỹ Latin không có những tác phẩm xuất sắc hay ko (tương tự,cũng không có mấy tướng tài)?. Và văn học Anh- Mỹ thì vượt trội hơn nhiều so với Nga, Pháp hay Đức trong việc sản sinh ra các kiệt tác?
